In Sheikh Jarrah in East-Jerusalem
Confrontations took place during the weekly demonstrations in East-Jerusalem when the Israeli occupation soldiers closed the Bab el Wad Street leading to the gates of Al aqsa and to open it for Jewish settlers only.
During the confrontations tens of demonstrators were hit by tear gas and suffered suffocation cases including Israeli and International peace activists. The demonstrators condemned ethnic cleansing in Sheikh Jarrah and called for the return of Palestinian families to their homes from which they were illegally evicted by the Israeli Police and by extremist Jewish settlers. The vandalizing settlers attacked the demonstrators including the 89 years old woman Refka al Kurd and her 50 years old daughter Nadia. The extremist settlers tried to attack photographers who tried to document the events especially after the International activists have left the place. Nadia had to be hospitalized in the Al Makassed Hospital for medical treatment. While the Israeli Police sufficed by telling the family to raise a court case against the settler who attacked the two ladies.
As usual, the Israeli Occupation Authorities close the area of Jerusalem every Friday and prevents Muslim worshippers to pray in the Holy Mosque of Al Aqsa. Israel that shares ”common values” with the US according to Hillary Clinton’s speech at the AIPAC meeting two weeks ago have prevented on Easter Days Christians to practice freely their religion and have free access to their most holy shrines in East-Jerusalem!!!.
