International Relations Commissioner of Fatah Dr. Nabeel Shaath was dispatched by President Mahmoud Abbas to the Polish capital on Saturday April 17, 2010 to pay tribute to the late President Lech Kaczynski, his wife and senior Polish officials who were killed in an airplane crash in Western Russia last week, April 11, 2010.
Dr. Shaath will be representing President Abbas, the Fatah Movement and the Palestinian people in this tragic mission.
Palestine and Poland have been maintaining fraternal and friendly relations since decades which go back to the era of the late Palestinian President Yasser Arafat. Poland is well known for its principled stand with the just cause of the Palestinian people and has provided support to the Palestinian Authority on economic and cultural levels.
