MAYOR OF JERUSALEM
.... The newly elected Mayor of Jerusalem Nir Barkat supports the construction of Jewish Quarter in Arab East Jerusalem on the lands of the Arab village of Anata to the North of Jerusalem. Barkat justified his new old drive by the construction of new apartments for Jewish young couples, while Palestinians are denied construction in their own city. Israel denies giving construction permits to Palestinian Jerusalemites and is active in demolishing their houses if they build without Israeli permits

EU ACCUSES ISRAEL
EU accused Israel for not restraining extremist settlers in the West Bank. The French Presidency of the EU in Paris declared on November 20, 2008 that the Israeli government has to do its utmost to curb illegal violence in the West Bank. The statement added that the attacks prevented Palestinians from harvesting their olives, which is harmful for Palestinian economy

INTERNATIONAL DEMOCRATIC YOUTH
A delegation of the International Democratic Youth Organization paid a visit to the Foreign Relations Commission in Ramallah where they were received by Foreign Relations Commissioner Abdallah Frangi. The Delegation consisted of Yannis Gkiokas (Greece), member of the Central Council of the Communist Youth in Greece (KNE) and member of the Greek Parliament, Andre Luz from the Communist Portugese Youth (JSP) and Tiago Vieira member of the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) and member of the Portuguese Communist Youth (JCP).
77PALESTINIAN CHILDREN KILLED
A study published by the Save the Children Foundation disclosed that the number of Palestinian kids killed in the first half of 2008 exceed the number of killed kids during the whole year of 2007 as a result of the military confrontations. The number of Palestinian kids killed from January to August of 2008 reached 77 while 4 Israeli kids lost their lives during the same period. Moreover 387 Palestinian kids were wounded and 8 Israeli kids due to the Israeli Palestinian confrontation. Information sources revealed that 8 kids died in Gaza as a result of the closure imposed by Israel for being refused to get medical treatment abroad..
FRANGI MEETS SWISS REPRESENTATIVE
Swiss Representative to the Palestinian Authority Mr. Andrea Semadeni paid on November 18, 2008 a visit to the Foreign Relations Commission in Ramallah, where he was received by Foreign Relations Commissioner Abdallah Frangi. Mr. Semadeni was accompanied by a Journalist from the Neue Zuericher Zeitung Mr. Victor Kocher. During the visit Mr. Frangi discussed the latest political developments in the region. He criticized Israeli Measures in East Jerusalem and Hebron, and condemned Israeli confiscation of houses in both Palestinian cities. He also denounced the settlers’ vandalization in Hebron who desecrate Moslem holy cites, such as Mosques and graveyards
