Dear Friends Your courageous stance of support and advocacy to our Palestinian People during the Israeli aggressive war on the Gaza Strip and the condemnation and denial of this aggression had a great impact on our struggling Palestinian people who received a great strength to proceed in its struggle for freedom, liberation and practicing its national rights in its homeland. It had also a great effectiveness in mobilizing the world public opinion and its organizations interested in the struggle of the peoples to achieve their national rights and self-determination on the way to materialize international security and peace and to defeat the forces of injustice, suppression, occupation and foreign hegemony. During the Israeli war on our people in the Gaza Strip, active nations around the world had demonstrated their solidarity and determination in rejecting the war and aggression. They also expressed their condemnation of crimes perpetrated against children, women and male civilians. Dear Friends The Government of Israel uses all kinds of war against our people in every part of the Palestinian land. In the Gaza Strip, it uses the war of siege and daily killing. In the West Bank it uses the war of land and community severance, military checkpoints, incursions, detention without trials, assassinations house demolitions and ethnic cleansing including in East-Jerusalem. The gravest war on the Palestinian people in the West Bank might be the ongoing fierce war of Palestinian land-takeover and confiscation, building Israeli settlements, expanding the existing ones, building the Israeli Wall inside the Palestinian land which resulted in to confiscation of Palestinian lands and their annexation to Israel as a de facto by an oppressive power, in addition to what the Wall caused of family severance and separating its households. Moreover, settlement and Wall construction prevent the Palestinian people from practicing its right to self determination in the future which was confirmed by the International Court of Justice in its advisory opinion issued in July 2004. The Israeli settlement construction in the Palestinian territories, the judaization of East-Jerusalem and other places of the West Bank, the adoption of ethnic cleansing in the Arab city of Jerusalem represent grave violations to the principles of International Law, to the International Humanitarian Law and the Human Rights Declaration are evidence to the ongoing Israeli war against the Palestinian community aiming at its destruction and disabling it to defend itself and protect its land. At a time when the Palestinian people aspire to enforce the provisions of just peace and its rights to exist as free and dignified nation similar to other nations, the fever of Israeli settlement construction and judaization was raged in our occupied Palestinian territory to kill any hope in achieving peace. This takes place through confiscating the Palestinian land properties as one of the key components to establish the required Palestinian state and achieve peace in the Middle East region. The ongoing actions nowadays in the city of Jerusalem and its neighborhoods of Al-Bustan, Silwan, Wadi Al-Jouz, Shaikh Jarrah and other Palestinian neighborhoods of the Holy city such as the usurpation of Palestinian houses, demolishing of houses, forced eviction of Palestinian families from their houses to be taken over by Jewish settlers is a crime according the Hague Convention of 1907 and is classified by Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 and its annexed first protocol of 1977 and the principles of international law as war crimes that shall not be dropped by prescription or time-limitation while their actors shall be prosecuted before international justice. Dear Friends Since 1967 Israel rejected all UN General Assembly the resolutions, UN Security Council Resolutions, Human Rights Committee and the United Nations Council for Human Rights recommendations requesting Israel to stop settlement construction and to abide by its international obligations considering these actions a gross violation of the principles of international law and international humanitarian law. Accordingly they constitute war crimes and a severe violation of a cogent rule in the international law which tabooed taking over the land of others by force. It is time for the world to realize that the government of Israel is implementing systematic and deliberate assassination of Palestinians, settlement, expansion, and confiscation of the Palestinian lands, judaization and changing the characteristics of the Palestinian Arab city of Jerusalem and its neighborhoods on demographic, geographic and administrative levels. As we mentioned above, the tools and coercive measures used by Israel nowadays represent various forms of war crimes and crimes against humanity stipulated in the international law. Israel commits those crimes to boost its aggression and military occupation of the Palestinian lands which gravely impedes any effort towards peace; however, the above mentioned practices of the Israeli government guarantee the failure of the peace process. The peace which Israel is talking about is useless and meaningless in the light of its aforesaid practices. Peace talks became a hoax that the government of Israel uses to buy extra time in order to accomplish and conclude its political goals and objectives aiming at taking over the entire Palestinian land and crack down on the Palestinian society using all forms of destruction, such as assassination, deportation, severance and frustration in order not to allow any Palestinian capable of defending their land. Through such measures Israel will be enabled to achieve its goals and intention of a cemetery-peace. Such peace will never be accepted by the struggling Palestinian people. Dear Friends It is time for all free nations around the world to loudly raise their voice against the Israeli settlement policy in the occupied Palestinian territories. For the sake peace, settlement policy should stop, for the sake of peace settlements should be dismantled, for the sake peace the occupation should be ended and for the sake of peace the Palestinian people should be enabled to practice its natural and legal right for self-determination without foreign intervention. Your voice shall be loud and resound for a peace based on justice; and resistance against Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories. It is imperative to urge your friendly governments to take effective and influential positions on bilateral as well as on international levels to express your will and aspiration to end the occupation of the Palestinian lands as a key step towards just and comprehensive peace. Let November 29, become a Universal Day for solidarity with the Palestinian people, or any other day you see appropriate to be a universal day against the Israeli settlement in the occupied Palestinian territories. Let us use its activities and events as effective and continuous over the year in order to unmask the dangers of the Israeli settlement policy and work for its liquidation. All the illegal practices of Israel undermining peace efforts should be rejected. All repressive measures that inflame or stoke wars in the region will expand the range of bloodshed and might reach farther than the Middle East region and could gravely threaten the international security and peace. Dear Friends Internally and with other friendly organizations and bodies, we can discuss the idea of identifying a day to be announced as a “Universal Day” against Israeli settlement policy in the occupied Palestinian territories. The free nations of the world have to use every occasion to loudly raise their voice for the sake of peace based on justice. They have to put an end to wars and bloodshed resulted from the continued Israeli occupation, to put an end to the deprivation of the Palestinian people from practicing their legitimate rights to build their independent, free and sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem its Capital within the borders of June 1967.
